I really couldn’t afford it, but I decided to chance it, anyway. I couldn’t help myself. I drove up to the Harbor and joined in on the group ride. Unfortunately, I hadn’t ridden since Saturday, so I was lacking energy last night. I just didn’t feel like pedaling.
I had a great time rolling down the Red Trail, but decided to separate from the rest of the group when they started heading for Dancing Bear . . . to climb. I took a few friends to Ma Maki, headed over Cliffs and Bridges – where Rachel endoed and fell face down into bedrock – and swooped down Stairway to Heaven. Even though I was totally lazy, it was a breakthrough ride because I got over my fear of heights enough to ride the whole Stairway down. It was a first.
The ride ended, as is common practice, at the Mariner for food and beer. It was a great night.
