Ride ‘n Lop

By Diane Ursu

I set out, yesterday, with fellow mountain biker, Dan, to commute via rail-to-trail to Calumet to help lop some of the Swedetown trails in preparation for the upcoming Great Deer Chase. Six of us set out on bikes to lop trails. Dan and I cleared the Lakeview Trail.

See Dan lop. This picture is also proof that I was there. ;-)

Dan and I enjoyed our commute homeward via rail-to-trail as well. You see, it is mostly uphill to Camelot (Calumet). It is downhill to everywhere else. Thus, we enjoyed our downhill roll.

My totals were 25 miles of riding and 90 minutes of trail work. A grand total of 205 minutes in the saddle.

You may have noticed that there are suddenly three posts covering the last week. That’s because HughesNet provides this stellar Internet service that absolutely does not allow me to upload photos. Blech. I took my camera to work and uploaded them, there. So, read on. There’s more.

Di – how’s the little dog doing? I just took my parent’s dogs to the vet today. Not so good news.. one appears to have experienced a stroke. Her eyes are shifty but she acts fine? … The other has a lump in the colon, a pretty significant one. They are 14 years old… it’s just kind of sad really & made my sunny day feel a little gloomy. humph… on that note, I’m going to go visit them! Take care, I hope Margie is doing better.

Marjie has improved and we cut her Prednisone and Tramdol doses to once a day (rather than twice). It seems to me that she can walk, but it’s floppy. I don’t think she can really feel her legs too much.
