Torture
By Diane UrsuThis week has been absolutely amazing! Every day has been warm (in the 40s and 50s) and sunny. Can you believe that? Sunny! What’s the first thing that pops into your head? Yeah, mine, too. Believe me; I really wanted to do it, too. I wanted to do it sooo badly. The urge was almost overwhelming. Alas, I had to hold back. I had to refrain. I had to practice self-control, nay, self-sacrifice!
So, why did I not do it? Let me break it down for you:
• Thursday: Biochemistry quiz
• Friday: Organic Chemistry AND Physics tests
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: Homework due
Ok, that doesn’t really look that bad, unless you are even remotely aware of what science courses at Michigan Tech are like. Oh, yes, they are the ultimate hell. What is even worse is that I can’t even do it to relieve stress and keep my mind capable of focusing on even more work because I haven’t simply enough time to study for all of my exams and maintain my sanity at the same time.
While I have more exams on Monday and Tuesday, I can assure you that this weekend, I will take time to do it. I owe it to myself. It is all I want to do. It feels so good and makes me so happy.
In the end, all I wanna do is RIDE MY BIKE!

GO RIDE YOUR BIKE!!!!!!!!!
I hear ya on all those points. When I’m swamped with work.. I can’t go ride my bike… takes the joy out of it … seems sick, but I really need to get the work out of the way. I have to be very careful about not being a complete workaholic….
Oddly enough, if I were a bit more of a workaholic, I probably wouldn’t be in this situation and I could ride my bike during exam weeks. Looks like I need to turn a new leaf…
Hope you got a chance to ride. Here the weather is cold and dismal. I am hoping my entrance into the ranks of the unemployed and unencumbered gets me out there on my bike, though I fear I missed all the nice weather when I was driving hundreds and hundreds of miles.
