Vacancy Welcomed

By Diane Ursu

Note: I have some funky, weird visual thing going on with my computer, so I really can’t see what I’m doing as I post this. I have finally put up the posts for the last four days. I think you will find some of them quite enjoyable. :-) I also proofread these once I get to a computer that doesn’t have some funky, weird visual thing going on with it. :-D

I am a little disappointed in today’s outcome. For the last two days, my throat has been hinting that something just might be wrong. I heard its message, but I tried very hard to live in denial. Unfortunately, when your body has an unwelcome visitor, denial is quite off denied. :?

When I finally got out of bed, this morning, I thought it was kind of weird how I have been spending the last week in bed for about 11 hours per day. Don’t get me wrong, I love my bed, and it is one of my favorite places to be. Snuggled up under mountains of blankets is definitely something I enjoy. However, 11 hours in bed would usually be enough to make me slightly disgusted with my bed.

There is also the fact that I have had a case of the slows all week, only it’s not really the slows. You see, the slows can usually be cured with a good workout and some beer or wine. Suddenly, life is good and I’m ready to take on the world. Last night, the workout didn’t do anything for me and the wine simply led me back to square one: snuggled up on the couch with the dogs watching a DVD with my eyes closed. I know what you’re thinking: watching a DVD with one’s eyes closed is one heck of a talent. It didn’t take long for the couch experience to lead to the snuggled up under mountains of blankets in bed for 11 hours experience.

I have developed odd little intermittent pains in my throat and am feeling simply worn-out. There is no mistaking this lack of energy I have. I am incredibly tired. I am getting sick. That means it’s time to develop a game plan to kick this newest resident of Di’s body out on its tooshy.
