2012 Tour de France Stage 8: Belfort to Porrentruy
France’s Thibaut Pinot of FDJ-Bigmat won today’s mountainous, 97.8-mile stage from Belfort to Porrentruy. Last year’s Tour de France winner, Cadel Evans of Australia, finished second behind Pinot by 26 seconds. Some of the prominent climbers made their way toward the front of the pack over the hilly course consisting of seven climbs ranging from Category 4 to 1. 2012 Tour de France Stage 2: Visé to Tournai
Today’s second stage of the Tour de France took the riders along a 129-mile route from Visé, Belgium to Tournai, Belgium. Sky Procycling’s Mark Cavendish of Great Britain won the final sprint to the finish to win the stage. He was the sixth place sprinter at Soignies. 2012 Tour de France Prologue and Stage 1: Liège to Seraing
The 2012 Tour de France Prologue began with a 4-mile time trial in Liège, Belgium. Not surprisingly, Luxembourg’s Fabian Cancellara, racing for RadioShack-Nissan, won the Prologue to be the bearer of the yellow jersey for the 123-mile Stage 1 from Liège to Seraing.
