Kolobnev’s B-Sample Tests Positive, Investigation Launched
Russian cyclist Alexandr Kolobnev withdrew prior to Stage 10 of the 2011 Tour de France when his urine sample tested positive for hydrochlorothiazide, a banned diuretic that is used as a masking agent for doping. The B-sample also tested positive. Considering how common doping was, and probably still is, in professional cycling, to not dope would be to purposely place oneself in a class lower than the other pro cyclists. Alberto Contador Suspended for Clenbuterol
Alberto Contador tested positive for clenbuterol and issuspended for further investigation. Team Astana’s Alberto Contador is under scrutiny for the presence of clenbuterol in his July 21, 2010 urine sample, which was taken on an off-day between Tour de France stages 16 and 17. Go Away, Floyd
Floyd Landis is at it, again! He just can’t leave well enough alone, and it’s even worse that he’s spouting off during Lance Armstrong’s final Tour de France. It’s kind of funny how people say that Lance can’t possibly ride that fast unless he’s doping, yet they don’t really go after all of the other super-fast, “can’t-be-human,” cycling stars. There’s something about Lance Armstrong. Perhaps it’s jealousy. Even after Lance first retired, he managed to stay in the limelight and continue to be a star attraction.
