Ridiculously, Annoyingly Happy
That’s me: ridiculously, annoyingly happy. The whole world knows it. Well, everyone who is Facebook friends with me knows it. So, if we’re supposed to have a thunderstorm during the 9:00 hour, and I seriously need to go kick my butt out at Stony. When would it be safe to hit up the trail? That was me on August 21 desperately looking to feed my crack habit. I rode with Steve Vigneau, that evening. Steve ended up breaking a spoke and had to bail, early. I rode a little longer and noticed a slowly-developing flat when I was approaching my truck. After my ride: Good ride. The Stony Creek Challenge—Yes, It’s Personal

2011 DNR Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) Clinic at Stony Creek
After only three hours of sleep, I dragged myself out of bed to pull myself together in time for my friend, Kris, to pick me up. We traveled down to Stony Creek Metropark to volunteer at the DNR’s Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) mountain bike clinic. This was my first time attending one of these events. Of course, it was taught by MMBA volunteers, some of whom are friends with whom I absolutely … Read entire article »

Mountain Biking Is Better Than Prozac
I was one of many who needed the help of Prozac during the first half of my twenties. Now, Prozac has the reputation of being the “happy drug,” and having been on the maximum dosage for a while, I could attest to that, at times. I think it was simply the “happy drug” towards the end when things were simply getting better, my viewpoint was changing, my social network greatly improved, and I … Read entire article »

Knobby Tire Tours at Stony Creek Metropark — A Photo Essay
The clouds parted over Stony Creek Metropark bringing the rain to a halt over this great Southeast Michigan trail. I headed to the trailhead with Jon Rose of Knobby Tire Tours to witness Jon’s hard work as a tour guide. The following is a photo essay. … Read entire article »
