Getting Back on Track

I feel like such a yo-yo. Yeah, it’s a weight thing. Let’s see. I’ve been up, down, up, down, up, down, and back up over the last 15 years. I’m back on the Zone and trying to get my life into a scheduled habit. I am a creature of habit, and if I break that habit, then all hell breaks loose and all of my effort turns to naught. I started out by creating an article outline. Every week–every Monday–I plan to sit down and plan out my articles for the week. The outline consists of ideas, not titles. Included are the different Moronacity channels, my two Examiner columns–I was just accepted to be the National Healthy Living Examiner, or something like that–and … Read entire article »

Train Wreck

Last night, after snowshoeing, a shower, and some much needed girling up, I got a quick massage. It was a nice wake-up call. My friend, Johanna, is a massage therapist in Copper Harbor. In the winter, she gives massages upstairs at The Mariner North. During the warmer months, she can be found at her studio, Spirit of the North Wellness. Happy, exercised, showered, girled-up Di went for a 15-minute massage. 2008 Goals

2008 Goals

The sky is blue, the pines are green, the snow is still here. To those inexperienced with life in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, one might think it is still winter. Look closer, and one will see that it is over 40 degrees Fahrenheit and the snow is sliding off the roof. A good sign of the spring thaw, icicles forming as the snow melts off of the roof. Many of us have already started riding. … Read entire article »

Cycling + Pain + Yoga = Happy Cyclist

Cycling + Pain + Yoga = Happy Cyclist

Many cyclists like to spend at least a couple hours on their bikes several times a week. It’s fun, and improvements are quite evident as the days pass by. Some cyclists will ride five or six times a week and include a seven or eight-hour ride. If you’re like me, you’ll find that you can put your time in on the bike, mostly because you can’t get yourself to stop because it’s just too … Read entire article »
