Moronacity.com welcomes
Painted Meadows Horse Journal
and Ursu Horse Journal
It all began in April 1998. I was a college student who knew nothing about web pages. I would surf the less-commercialized Yahoo! of yester-year for absolutely anything in order use the internet. I had all this free information at my fingertips and I had no idea what to look up!
A friend of mine showed me her web site and I remember being in awe of the artistic poetry page with a red gradient background. She told me that it was hosted by this place called GeoCities. So I went to geocities.com and read everything they wrote about creating a web site. That’s how Painted Meadows Horse Journal started. I created a quarterly horse journal online. Each page was colorful and different from the others. I wrote short, snappy articles and created an email list for people to join.
Then Yahoo! bought GeoCities and the web host lost the magic that the little world of web communities had. I moved the site to another server and changed the Ursu Horse Journal. This was an in-depth site with ads and listings and games and so on. The site then became too much for me to update on a regular basis. It just sat on the web about a year and a half with nothing being done to it.
I then started Moronacity. The Moronacity Horse Journal includes all the articles written for PMHJ and UHJ, except most are updated and expanded on. Many of them will be reworked to become more complete sources of information for you. The goal is that Moronacity will be here and it will never be outdated or become a dead site. It may not be updated every month, but it will contain all the information it has now, and it will gain more information as time goes on. I invite you to send your comments and share your stories. You may even become a featured writer!
Most importantly, I hope that you enjoy Moronacity Horse Journal and find it useful.
Sincerely,
Diane Ursu
